Design:
Catastrophe was designed with a team to become a new team-organized robot at WPI, teaching new members advanced machining and design principles.
Catastrophe utilizes multiple manufacturing methods, with a focus on 3-axis machining. Some of the parts are shown below.
Each one of these parts was designed specifically with both weight efficiency and manufacturability in mind.
While the robot has not been assembled, the parts will be used as teaching material in the future. Workshops teaching machining, fixturing, and tolerancing will provide new WPI Combat Robotics club members with a strong baseline in manufacturing.
